About Us

The Dickinson-Greer house was built in 1810. It is said to be the second oldest house in Glasgow. Cherie Vaughan is the Owner/Innkeeper. It is within walking distance of Downtown Glasgow.

About Cherie

I came to Glasgow from Denver, CO. when my friend Karin Carroll convinced me to move to Glasgow to take over the bed & breakfast. I bought it in October of 2018. I am a mother of three, grand-mother of five dog mom to Lulu.  I look forward to getting to know you while you are visiting.

I Like
to garden

Using fruit and flowers from my garden for breakfast and decorating.  I won some ribbons at the State Fair for my produce.

Everyone Loves Lulu!

Lulu is part Belgian Malinois and part Cattle Dog.  She is a rescue from Espanola, NM.  I adopted her in Albuquerque, NM when she was just a puppy in 2011.  She has been a great companion as we moved from Albuquerque, to Denver, and now Glasgow, KY.  She loves to chase motorcycles and bark at people walking by.  You may hear her bark when you come up to the door, but once you come in she's your friend.

Mammoth Cave brought us to Main St B&B, but Main St B&B will bring us back to Glasgow, KY! Absolutely amazing experience. Wonderfully charming home with so much history. Very cozy and clean room, delicious breakfast, and outstanding company! The kids wanted to extend our stay. Cherie was such a doll and exceeded our expectations. She was awesome with the kids and we enjoyed her company. Can't wait to be back!

The history of the Inn

In 1810 Samuel Jordan built the house for Mr. Giddings, a local School Master in Glasgow. Samuel Jordan was the jailer as well as a Master Brick Layer. Shortly after completion, the house was sold to Thomas Childs Dickinson. Thomas had taken a job at the First National Bank, then married the daughter of the bank president, Frances Stockton Hall. After Frances passed away T.C. Dickinson married Martha Virginia Day.

Someone from the Dickinson lived in the house until the last resident, Delvaux Greer passed away in 1996. The city bought the house and turned it into a historic building (the fourth oldest house in Glasgow). It was then later sold and turned into a Bed and Breakfast established in 2010.
The architecture resembles what was called a Flounder House in Virginia at the time. Originally the house had 7 rooms downstairs, 2 finished rooms upstairs and a basement with a huge fireplace used to heat the house, however, there is also a fireplace in the parlor and it is said that each room had a fireplace as well. The walls are 3-brick thickness with a plaster/lathe finish.
